Computer Engraving:

Computer Engraving is the act of Engraving using a computer to do all setup. The layouts are set up using different software products to accomplish the desired effects. Once the layouts are done,  the computer sends a file down to the engraving table which actually does the engraving. Of course all of this process is monitored closely by a trained operator. The operator supervises the machine and is responsible for changing tools on the table and the final outcome of the job. Computer Engraving is mostly done on any flat materials. Plastics and Brass are the most common.  We can be very competitive on one piece or on one thousand pieces.

Laser Engraving

Laser Engraving is similar to the above listed computer engraving however there is one major difference. The table is a Laser Engraving Table. There are no bits or tools to be used just the laser beam. The final outcome can be a much finer look. Generally speaking the laser engraver can produce much smaller, intricate letters than the computer engraver. It can also be used to cut out materials. The one major downside of laser engraving is that it can not be used to engrave into metal. It can only be used on coated metals such as colored brass, aluminum or steel.  See our web page on Laser Engraving for some things we can do!

Hand Engraving

Hand Engraving is a very specialized art that is only done by very few people. The art is highly the result of the individuals talent. Unfortunately we do not do hand engraving at Cab Plastics at this time.
