Engraved signs are the most durable type of sign you can buy. Engraving can be done on a variety of materials such as plastics for indoor and outoor, plexiglas, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, and many other materials. Engraving is the process of using a machine, now computerized or laser, that can engrave or cut into the material being used (substrate). Some materials are duo color - that means they are one color laminated on top of the other. In simple terms the top layer is cut into which exposes a second color. For example a white top sheet may have a black core, so when it is engraved it shows a black letter. On solid materials, like plexiglas or metals they get engraved and then they usually are "paint filled" with a contrasting color. This paint color can be just about any color desired. we specially make pms (pantone) colors or benjamin moore colors for example.
